Project Description
All property owners in Ontario have the responsibility to ensure that the property is reasonably safe for anyone on the property. This includes when you have any accident on someone’s private property or on government owned property. There can be many types of premises and occupier’s liability claims involving negligence of either the owner or the person using/renting the property.
Some of these types of claims can result from:

- Dangerous conditions and hidden hazards
There are different liability laws and maintenance standards that apply to different types of property where an accident occurs. There are different rules that apply to things such as snow and ice build up on municipal roads and sidewalks compared to dangerous conditions on someone’s property.
